There’s nothing worse than the washed-up punk-rock vet who’s still hung up
on the glory days; who whines about how all the new bands are making a mint off the
musical foundation he supposedly laid. Oh wait, there is—actually committing those
sentiments to tape as Kevin Seconds did a few years ago on the embarrassing 7
Seconds song “Where Is the Danger?” “This demographic thinks the singer’s
cute/ This demographic doesn’t have a fucking clue … You say I’m bitter, I’m just
jealous/ I just resent my lack of success.” Seconds recently grabbed an acoustic guitar
and harmonica and tried to get his serious coffeeshop-folkie on, but came off more like
a Dunkin’ Donuts Dylan. He brings his new sound to town this week. (Michael Alan
